If you have at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube is now making a creator tools available to those YouTube channels. Creator tools, which were previously restricted to YouTube channel partners, gives video creators the option to add official credits to their videos to highlight those that worked on the video. Previously, video creators were forced to add them to the YouTube video description field, and tended to clutter up the description, particularly since formatting options are limited in the description field.
YouTube has added multiple options for creator roles you can list, but it also allows video creators to link to the profiles of each person who helped on a video, making it easy for creators to highlight and promote those who collaborated on each video.
Creator credits will appear on videos once the “show more” link is clicked. This is not very different from how it works now with the description field, as generally any credits given on a video in the description field appeared after the text threshold for the “show more” to appear.
This also means if you are a creator or contributor to a video, you can be linked directly from the credits to your profile page / channel too.
YouTube has plans to bring this to those with fewer than 10,000 subscribers in the future.
