It is officially called the Vimeo On Demand Publisher Network, and allows publishers to embed videos directly into their content, or lists them in a VOD storefront. They also have exclusive titles each month, and of already begun working with CBS Interactive, The Atlantic and TEN.
With the popularity of Netflix and iTunes, this program is designed to make it easy for publishers to encourage visitors to rent or purchase a VOD, something that is pretty difficult for publishers to do through iTunes.
Here is how the storefront looks for The Atlantic.
It is unclear how much revenue publishers will earn for each video either purchased or rented, or if the revenue varies depending on which video it is. However, that revenue comes before Vimeo splits the 90% for the video creator.
Vimeo doesn’t have information about publisher network on the website at, so there is a possibility that it will only be accepting publishers from within the US at this time.
