Verified users already had some filtering tools at their disposal, but it is believed this goes a step further by tackling abusive tweets and those which are suspicious or contain duplicate content.
This feature is believed to be part of Twitter’s plans to help curb some of the abuse that happens on their platform, including new tools for reporting harassment and attempting to identify and block repeat trolls who repeatedly register new accounts as the previous one is either blocked by the target of their trolling or gets suspended by Twitter.
Many are hopeful this feature will also roll out to non-verified users. While verified users tend to attract a larger share of trolls, non-verified users have been equally bullied on Twitter too.
