Search Impact Alpha Test Renamed Search Analytics in Google Webmaster Tools

Glenn Gabe noticed that the alpha test feature Search Impact report within Google Webmaster Tools has just gotten a brand new name change. Gabe also speculates that the name change could signal that Google is getting ready to roll out this feature to all users – or to at least open it up for beta testing for those who weren’t able to get in the initial alpha test.  This does make sense, as there probably isn’t much reason to rename a reporting tool if they weren’t planning to expand it.

Google began testing this feature last month after first inviting webmasters to submit their Google Webmaster Tools accounts to be considered for the testing of a new search query report.  SERoundtable has a full detailed writeup about the report formerly known as Search Impact from the initial launch last month.
