Google is getting into the food ordering service by allowing US searchers to order food… and order it directly from the search results.
Google is working with six different companies with this new feature – Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu, and MyPizza.com. You will now see an option to “Please an order” for all restaurant listings with this feature available.
Online ordering and online reservations have been becoming more and more popular due to the convenience of being able to order or reserve without having to actually phone the restaurant.
They are looking to add more companies in the future although no timeline has currently been announced. And it isn’t known whether this feature will be available in the future outside of the US, but if it is popular I could see them expanding it if it is technically possible.
It is now available to those within the US. When you search from your mobile you will see an ordering option for available restaurants.
