Good news for those who are getting their apps indexed in the Google search results. Google is looking to bring the site:example.com, info:example.com and cache:example.com operators specifically for app indexed results.
This is one of the things many app developers have been requesting for a few reasons. First, they want to be able to see the (approximate) number of indexed app pages in the search results and see how they appear. And using cache is a great way to investigate any sneaky spam issues that might not be visible normally.
In yesterday’s app indexing hangout, Mariya Moeva from Google confirms that they are working on this.
Yes, we also have been working on this, but for now there is nothing that can be used externally. If we do decide to release something in that respect then we will definitely announce this.
Of course, “working on this” doesn’t always translate into a feature that becomes publicly available, but it is good to know it is something they are actively working on.
