Google Webmaster Tools Updating Search Query Data Once Again

Search query data is once again showing up in Google Webmaster Tools after disappearing for about a week.

There was some speculation that the missing data was somehow related to the alpha test of the new search query reports. However the problem is affecting both people who had applied to be a tester of the new Alpha search query reporting and those who didn’t.

There was discussion on the Google Webmaster Help forums, with Google’s John Mueller marking “This is a known issue and should be fixed in a few days or so” as a best answer.

The missing data began on February 8th and corresponds with an outage in Google Analytics which saw data missing from February 9th and was also restored this weekend.

Google has fixed the problem, and the search queries are once again updating as of February 15th with the missing data from the past week once again available to users.

Added: While some users are seeing it (I can see it and updates on forums show that others are), apparently not all users have it yet.

And a comment from John Mueller: “I wouldn’t say it’s fixed, but it’s catching up again :)”
