As some marketers are getting concerned as the April 21st deadline to get websites mobile friendly before they are negatively impacted by Google’s new mobile ranking algo, Google Webmaster Tools is kicking off a month long #MobileMadness event to help get webmasters prepped and prepared for the change.
Google announced that mobile-friendliness would begin to be a mobile signal when searches are done on mobile devices, which as prompted many webmasters to get serious about ensuring their sites are ready to go. While some webmasters have received warnings that their sites are not mobile friendly, all webmasters – regardless of whether they have received a notice or not yet – should be checking their sites and making any changes necessary before the deadline.
While Google’s #MobileMadness seems targeted to more beginner SEOs, there will likely be some tidbits that will give a bit of insight into Google’s decisions even for seasoned webmasters.
We have a lot of cool things lined up for #MobileMadness, our monthlong campaign to help prepare you for the April 21 mobile-friendly ranking change. Check out the schedule below and follow us to be a part of the #MobileMadness!
