Google Wants to Visit Online Marketing Teams in Their Offices

Google wants to learn more about how companies use Google Webmaster Tools as well as how they manage content and infrastructure, and they are willing to come to you to do it.  Gary Illyes, a Google Webmaster Trends Analyst, has posted on Google+ looking for companies willing to have Google visit them as they go about their day.

Google wants to observe companies in Europe and North Africa for a couple of days, meeting with various team members working on online marketing, taking notes and asking questions.  They are also interested in companies whose sites are managed by agencies.  They are doing it to “create internal reports that we’ll use for improving our communication, support, and web-search related products like Webmaster Tools.”

They aren’t looking for sites of a specific size and say they are interested in sites both large and small.

What do you get out of it?  A chance to question (and hopefully grill!) Google about anything, and they will do the best to answer it… within reason.  So no, you aren’t going to get the date of the next Penguin update or how to get away with paid links 🙂

If you are interested, Google has a form here.

Here is the full post:

We would like to learn about how we can help you manage your sites easier.

We are looking for companies, agencies, and website owners willing to let us observe for a couple days (at most) how they are managing their sites’ content and infrastructure. We would meet with & observe the developers, designers, content creators, SEOs, and decision makers, we would take notes and ask questions. If your site is managed by an agency, we want to hear about that, too! All this to create internal reports that we’ll use for improving our communication, support, and web-search related products like Webmaster Tools.

This is for everyone! It doesn’t matter if your site is huge or small, we’re interested in all kind of sites. We are happy to travel to any place in Europe and North Africa (at our own cost of course). At the end of our visit, we’ll be happy to answer YOUR questions: you can ask us anything and we’ll try to answer them within reason.

If you’re interested, sign up using the linked form. We’ll select a handful of sites and get in touch with them.
