Google has a new test where they are showing a variety of icons next to common types of pages that shows up in a site’s sitelinks in the mobile search results.
Here is how they look:
Sergey Alakov spotted them and posted screenshots on Twitter.
This seems to be a limited test, as I was unable to replicate them. But they definitely draw the eye to those who are looking for specific types of sitelinks, since all the icons are directly related to what the sitelink is, such as login, contact, careers, etc.
They don’t only show for local businesses, so it isn’t a specific local business change, but local businesses would definitely benefit from these too.
These don’t seem related to any schema at all, but rather Google is identifying specific and common page types, and associating an icon with them.
