The Search Impact Alpha Test – which was recently renamed Search Analytics – gives more detailed keyword information to webmasters, and slightly fills the gap left by “not provided” in a website’s analytics, as all Google search keywords are removed.
In the last Google Webmaster Tools Office Hours, someone asked about getting access to it. John Mueller from Google replied.
I think we are doing a new round next week and we want to add a bunch of more people who signed up for that. I don’t know if we can add all of them for the next beta. I think that’s happening next week, so stay tuned.
I like where they’re headed with the new feature there, it gives you a little bit more information and a it more options so it will be interesting to see how it all comes out.
It is unclear if it is still considered beta or alpha – it was alpha during the sign up phase, but it could have just been referred to as beta in mistake. It was still noted as alpha in Google Webmaster Tools.
