Google Penguin Still Not Ready to Launch

If you have been anxiously awaiting the next Penguin update, you will be waiting at least a little bit longer.  Gary Illyes from Google has confirmed that “Penguin is not ready for primetime yet.”

Of course, this leads to many others speculating just how long the “yet” will be.  It has been just over a year since we have last seen a Google Penguin update, and while it seems as though we will see it this year, based on prior tweets, there is no confirmed date as of yet.

But both Illyes and John Mueller have been talking quite a bit recently, in both tweets and hangouts, about the upcoming Penguin update, so it is still very much on the radar to happen.

The good news is that when this Penguin does launch, Google is planning for it to be the real-time Penguin, meaning webmasters will no longer have to wait for the next Penguin refresh in order to recover.  As soon as links are disavowed, and then recrawled, sites can recover from Penguin.
