If you type in an English word in Google.co.in, Google will show a language selector, allowing the searcher to see results in either the searcher’s usual language (in this example Hindi) or in English, the language that the query was in.
Here is how it looks:
It gives the searcher two “tabs” to select from, one showing results for the query in English, while the other is for Hindi results. In this case, it appears that the business name is in English, so the searcher could be searching for results in either English or Hindi, and the search query itself isn’t enough to determine it. If there was another word added to the query in either English or Hindi, the tab language selector might not have shown.
Ramesh Singh spotted this while doing a search. I am not sure if this is default or just a test for queries done in English or other languages.
Google also recently added translations for simple words typed in a language other than the default languages of country-specific versions of Google.
Added: SERoundtable noticed this as well.
