If you are hosting a Google Hangout on Air, Google has launched a new feature which would allow you to call anyone in the US and Canada for free.
Google seems to be promoting it as a service simply to chat via webcam with others, rather than specifically as a group hangout, which could definitely increase the Hangouts user base.
For making phone calls outside of US and Canada, there are low rates per minute.
Starting today you can make voice calls from Hangouts on Android, iOS and the web. It’s free to call other Hangouts users, it’s free to call numbers in the U.S. and Canada, and the international rates are really low. So keeping in touch is easier and more affordable than ever.
The new feature will roll out for Android over the next couple of days and is already available for iOS and on the web.
