If you have suddenly noticed a drop in the number of errors in Google Search Console for AMP, you didn’t accidentally change something. Google has updated the error reporting in Search Console to prepare for Google showing AMP in the main search results.
The change in reporting is made with the upcoming addition of AMP to the “ten blue links” in the search results, which does not require structured data. And structured data issues were the reason many saw errors in the reporting.
Many site owners should now see a drop in their errors.
What was previously shown as an error is now only shown as a warning, so you can still find those issues to correct them. They are now listed under “AMP pages with issues.” These “issues” won’t prevent the pages from being shown in the regular search results, either in the current AMP demo, or when the feature goes live into the search results.
Do note that if you want your pages to appear in Google’s Top Stories carousel, where Google is currently showing AMP in the mobile search results, you still need to use structured data.
