Google AdWords is making some changes to their user experience when it comes to deleting campaigns from an AdWords account. In a Google+ post made this morning, they announced that AdWords is changing the wording so that campaigns will now me “Removed” and not “Deleted”.
There has always been a bit of confusion- especially for newer or casual AdWords users – that once it is deleted, that it is gone forever, when that really isn’t the case. Advertisers were still able to utilize the data, such as for historical data, but because of the term “delete”, people believed it was simply gone forever.
The change will be happening in two weeks time, on July 21, 2014, and the references to “delete” will change to “removed”.
Advertisers will also need to update any scripts and macros that might throw errors after this change goes live on the 21st.
