Google has added a new feature to alert searchers that some sitelinks within an organic search result actually lead to specific sections of the page within the entire webpage.

The example is for Wikipedia, which is well known for having multiple sections within a page, which each have internal hoplinks to easily jump to specific sections.  And Google is highlighting this by adding “On this page” above the links for the specific sections.

By comparison, the organic result above Wikipedia for Moz has the added sitelinks, but these are for individual pages, and not just sections within the listed page.

This is a great addition for those searchers that might not be as familiar with section links, or that Google will link to specific sections of a page, and not just the top of the webpage.  It also makes a typically longer page more appealing to those searching on a mobile device, since they can easily find the section they are looking for and go immediately to that section.
