A brand-new knowledge graph feature will make it easier for official sources to sell tickets but more difficult for third parties who resell tickets or an affiliate commission on tickets.
Google is releasing brand-new markup for ticketing links for musical artists that will include links to their upcoming concerts, including information such as the on sale date and ticket availability, as well as a link to the artists preferred ticketing website.
Google is not to supporting musical acts. There also providing markup for comedians and other venue events for venues including concert halls, theaters, libraries, fairgrounds and other places where events are held.
This could also lead to some competition from third-party sellers who will want to sweeten up the deal to get their website listed as the preferred ticketing website. However, as Ticketmaster such a monopoly, there will likely be requirements that artists are only permitted to use direct Ticketmaster links.
For more details on the markup required, Google has included it on their help page, including samples.
