Bing Testing Local Carousels With 50 Listings

This is quite an interesting test from Bing.  They are testing a new carousel style for some of their local results, and they look more like a business card than a web or local result.

Here is what it looks like:

It seems to be organized by location, as the map shifts as you scroll through the carousel.

And the carousel itself is rather astonishing – it has 50 individual listings in this carousel.  When you click an individual, it will then display more details about the listing – in this case, an individual dentist.

It seems these type of results might be restricted to health fields.  Here is another one for optometrists.

And one for allergists:

And dermatologists:

And many more medical services as well.

The information might be pulled from ZocDoc and some from Vitals, as many of the profiles list one of them as the source, however these might all be paid services – ZocDoc charges about $300 per month for their service.

If you are a local business in the health or medical space, it seems like it might be worth checking to see your appearance in the carousel, and if you can appear in the carousel without a paid listing on one of the third party sites.
