Bing is now adding download links to their knowledge panel for software searches.

Bing lists two sources for each of the downloads, including both the official source for the download as well as CNET.

However, one of the issues many people will have is that Bing is recommending CNET / Download.com as the second source for download’s in their knowledge panel, which tends to bundle the majority of its software with other downloads including browser hijackers and spyware.

Including CNET does give some additional information that is useful to users though, such as the download count.  They are also pulling the software description from CNET rather than from the official source.

Earlier this year, Bing added download counts and size to the regular search results above the snippet.  Depending on the search results, they listed either CNET or the actual source, depending on which ranked better on the page.
