Google Search Console is having some issues this morning with 404s. I noticed this earlier this morning and tweeted about it, but haven’t heard a response.
So @googlewmc is throwing a ton of 404 errors this morning. cc @methode @johnmu

The 404 errors are not happening on every page load, but coming up every minute or two. A refresh will usually load the full page correctly. When it does go to a 404, it shows a very basic 404 page, not the usual custom Google 404 page we have seen before.
Others are also noticing the same issue.
It’s a Google search console with 404s kind of morning uh?

So it is definitely impacting multiple countries.
There is also a thread on the Google Webmaster Help forums.
It isn’t a major problem since a reload resolves it, but it is never a good sign when a service starts throwing 404s instead of loading the correct page and data.
Update: The problem has been fixed.
@jenstar sorry, someone tripped over a cable. It should be OK now @googlewmc @JohnMu
