Do online social casino ads drive you crazy? Well, they will now start appearing in your Google AdSense ads… unless you explicitly opt-out of them.
Google describes the ads as “includes simulated gambling games (including, without limitation, poker, slots, bingo, lotteries, sports betting, betting on races, as well as other card games and casino games) where there is no opportunity to win anything of value (such as money or prizes).”
When you login to your AdSense account, you can opt out of these ads if you wish. However, it could be worth while to run them for a few weeks, then check the reporting to see what percentage of impressions and revenue that those ads are responsible for. This can be useful if you are trying to decide which of the ad category options to allow or block from appearing. And sometimes the amount of revenue offsets the type of ads that could be seen.
Some sites could see a jump in revenue with these ads – sports sites could see a jump in fantasy leagues and sports betting, for example.
To find the option to block, simply login to your account, click the “Allow & block ads” tab at the top, and then select the lower “Sensitive categories” tab to find the “Social Casino Games” option.

I went to do that, but there wasn’t an easy way to do it without having to blur most of it since it had account related info on it.
